ST EDWARDS SS BUKUUMI was founded in 1945 by the White Fathers as a boys' junior school in the Kakumiro District of Uganda. From 1948, the school has been managed by the Brothers of Christian Instruction, a religious community dedicated to education and spiritual development.
In 1976, the school transitioned to a mixed boarding institution, welcoming both boys and girls. Over more than 80 years, ST EDWARDS has grown to become one of the region's most prominent educational institutions, maintaining its Catholic identity while providing quality secondary education. Recent developments include the construction of new girls' dormitories and modern classroom blocks.
